The definition of the word harbor is: a safe place providing security, comfort, and refuge.
I'm offering this community as an ongoing lived experience of security, comfort, and refuge as you engage in this important and challenging work.

In keeping with the explicitly supportive and encouraging DEEP ethos, the DEEP Harbor community will ongoingly facilitate:
- Intensive therapist self-building, so that skills emerge from a solid inner foundation

- 3-hour DEEP Refresher/Intro Course - When you join, you'll gain access to a 3-hour video course that's an in-depth overview of the DEEP model of therapy. The course:
- Includes lecture and recordings of some of Candyce's actual therapy sessions.
- Reviews DEEP concepts to bring them back to mind for you if it's been a while since you took the intensive DEEP training course.
- Gives you a good basis for learning if you're here to understand more about DEEP before taking the intensive training course, or just because you're curious.
- Offers you 3 CE credits when you complete it, on your own timetable.

- Regular self-paced online learning
- A 30-minute video/audio lesson on the DEEP topic of the month will be dropped into your library on the last Wednesday of each month.
- A downloadable DEEP Manual-like page of notes will accompany the lesson video, tied to topic areas you can organize in an actual manual if you're a geek like I am.
- Live online meeting once per month - From 3:00-4:30pm Central Time on the first Wednesday of each month, Candyce will host a live online meeting open to all community members. The meetings will contain:
- 45 minute Q&A - Candyce answers questions on the monthly topic. Questions will be submitted by members ahead of the meeting.
- 45 minute experiential - Live experiences, selected from:
- Case consultations with group members
- Live demonstration sessions with volunteer members acting as clients and/or therapists
- Breakout rooms for dyadic practice of specific skills
- Constantly expanding on-demand video/audio library
- Live meetings recorded and uploaded to your member library for future viewing, as long as you're a member. (Confidential material will only be available for the current month's viewing.)
- Video/Audio lessons organized by topic in the easy-access library
- 2 CE credits available each month
- A quiz that generates CE credits is available after the live meeting and until the next video drop each month.
- Earn CE credit for listening to the video/audio topic + either attending the live meeting OR viewing/listening to the recording of it.
- Private online posting group - Ongoing, beginning June 17, 2024.
- The posting group is a forum, similar to a Facebook group. (Hosted on the private course platform, NOT Facebook.)
- The group will be nurtured by a DEEP therapist, and Candyce will participate regularly.

Who's Candyce Ossefort-Russell?

1) When does the DEEP Harbor open?
- The DEEP Harbor community goes live on June 17, 2024.
- Self-introductions and opening conversations will start then.
- The first mini-course drops on June 26, 2024.
- The first live online member meeting is 3:00-4:30pm on Wednesday, July 3. (That's right! Kick off your long holiday weekend with a sense of connection and wonder!)
- Join now to claim your spot, and be notified of the community's opening on June 17th!
2) When does registration close?
- The membership invitation window is open now through Monday, July 8, 2024.
- We'll take a few months to build safety and connection within the group, and then open membership again for another fixed window, perhaps in the fall.
3) Can I earn CEUs? Will that cost extra?
- 2 Continuing Education Credits are made available each month. That means 24 CE credits per year are possible.
- There is no additional charge for CE certificates.
- This course meets all the requirements for continuing education as specified by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council for LPCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, and Psychologists.
- Outside of Texas, it's your responsibility to check with your state board to see if this course qualifies. Many state boards allow credit for this type of high quality course.
- A copy of my CV and a course description are included in the course materials if you need those to demonstrate course validity for your licensing board's CE requirements.
4) Am I required to attend the live online meetings?
- Absolutely not! Live attendance is optional, but encouraged.
- I heartily encourage you to attend live, for the sense of a warm and cohesive connection for learning that emerges, even on Zoom, when we gather together in living form.
5) Will the live meetings be recorded?
- Live meetings will be recorded and uploaded to your member library to accompany each mini-course lesson.
- Full meetings will be available for viewing/listening until the next lesson drop. That way, you'll have the opportunity to witness the entire meeting and earn your 2 CE credits for the month.
- Confidential parts of the live meetings, such as case consultation or demonstration sessions, will be removed on the day of the next lesson drop (the last Wednesday of each month).
- Non-confidential Q&A parts of the recordings will be attached to the lesson videos as part of your permanently accessible member library.
6) How much time will it take for me to participate?
- The more you participate, the more connection and learning you'll take from your membership.
- Actual lesson material takes 2 hours per month, including listening to or watching the 30 minute lesson video, and 1.5 hours to attend the live meeting (or to watch its recording).
- Mini-course lessons are available to watch any time beyond the month they're presented, so there's no requirement to spend the 2 hours per month to "keep up." However, if you want to earn CE credit, you must engage with the 2 hour lesson during its current month.
- Taking time to engage in the forum--asking/answering questions and participating in discussions--will increase your community connection.
- You can initiate more intimate meetups or reading groups within the community if you want to. Spend as much time as you want!
7) How long do I have access to the course materials?
Course videos, downloadable handouts, and articles are available to you via your course library ongoingly. In fact, your copy of The DEEP Manual will be updated each year with the new material I add for each year's class. All course materials--videos, audio files, and pdfs--are downloadable too.
8) Do I have to be an experienced therapist to join the community?
The DEEP Harbor community is specifically geared toward mental health professionals--counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists. DEEP practice is most exciting when clinicians of a variety of experience levels join together to bring varied perspectives. Whether you're a practicum student or a decades-seasoned clinician or anywhere in between, this community welcomes you. You'll get the most out of it if you're currently working with clients.
9) Do I have to have taken the DEEP intensive training course to join?
No! The DEEP Harbor community is for DEEP class alumni and clinicians who are interested in learning about the DEEP way of working. DEEP alumni get to stay sharp and current with DEEP skills. DEEP-curious clinicians can get a taste of DEEP to prepare for diving into the DEEP class in the future, or to learn what DEEP is all about. (Only DEEP alumni get access to the online DEEP manual.)
