I believe that self-reflective therapists
who do their own deep work
change the world 50 minutes at a time.
When we help people become all of who they are,
more true selves cascade into the world,
and the world becomes a better place.
That's why I created DEEP:
To help you become a therapist
who changes the world.
***
If you've been feeling:
- like you can't be your real self in session in order to "hold proper boundaries;"
- insecure or anxious from leaping from tool to tool or training to training to figure out "what to do" with your clients;
- bored by your sessions;
- constrained by doing therapy based on a medical model.
And you'd rather be a therapist who changes the world by:
- being authentic, warm, and engaged;
- being transparent, nonpathologizing, and nonjudgmental;
- having the capacity to focus on the here and now;
- reading nonverbal signals, and having the courage to bring them into explicit awareness;
- facilitating new, transformational experiences in the therapy room, rather than “just talking about stuff;”
- feeling confident about when and how to use the tools you've learned in 100's of trainings;
- helping your clients create meaning; and
- doing your own internal work so you can know who you are and what you bring to the table...
The Intensive DEEP Training 2024 is your ideal next step...

Science shows that:
Life's most difficult struggles and questions transform into potent opportunities for learning and change in the safety of warm and affirming relationships.
DEEP (Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy) will teach you how to harness your own true self to enjoy providing this kind of warmth and affirmation skillfully and professionally.
DEEP is therapy that will
invite your clients into a lived experience of growth and change
within a respectful, nonjudgmental relationship,
from the very first moment of therapy.
As a DEEP therapist, you'll bring your engaged and authentic self into the room
in professionally informed ways
to help your clients expand into healing, meaning, and potential,
all while addressing current life concerns.
You'll be trained in such a way that
you'll receive the warmth and respect
that you're expected to offer to your clients, so that
you'll feel supported and encouraged to learn and grow.
I'm ready to apply
I can say definitively that the DEEP training has not only allowed for me to be a more competent and skilled therapist, but a more present, authentic, and whole human. Though not the intention of this training, it has brought great healing to my own life, for which I will always be profoundly grateful. Rigorous, comprehensive, connective, compassionate, and meticulously organized, this training is everything I could have hoped for and then some. If you're thinking about it - do it! I only wish I'd taken this training earlier!
- Jess Sprengle, MA, LPC
You'll learn:
"How to BE" in the room, which leads to confidence in "what to do."

You'll build:
A foundational stance and theory for your work that'll guide your use of other tools.
You'll know:
The latest science that backs up everything, so you can always explain what you're doing and why.

DEEP has taught me how to bring more of myself into the room as a therapist, which has felt liberating for me and has led to client relationships that feel more authentic and connected. You can feel how deeply Candyce has devoted herself to this craft. What an incredible opportunity to learn from her firsthand among an intimate community of therapists.

DEEP Course Content Details
DEEP (Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy) is an attachment-based experiential therapy model built on a foundation of depth psychology, existential psychology, and AEDP.
Upon this solid ground, DEEP expands to include the latest updates in interpersonal neurobiology; applications of attachment theory, enactment theory, and the polyvagal theory; and existential, humanistic, and body-based approaches to emotion.
This intensive, exclusively online training course translates all the yummy theory into practical application, and teaches you concrete skills that help you know “how to be” and “what to do” in the practice of this 21st-century, emotionally engaged therapy.
When you complete the course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion and a listing on the DEEP Training website.
The year-long course is a lively, engaging immersion in a comprehensive curriculum that includes:
- In-depth foundational theory of cutting-edge experiential therapy based in attachment theory (a rich clinical and theoretical infrastructure that builds on AEDP)
- Translation of theoretical jargon into descriptive, useful language
- Concrete clinical applications of all theoretical concepts
- How to embed your current skills—EMDR, Brainspotting, SE, Sensorimotor, CBT, IFS or other parts work, etc.—into a depth-oriented attachment foundation
- Existential and depth psychological ideas about the nature of suffering and our role as helpers that provides strong support for the therapist when the going is hard
- Schore’s regulation and enactment theory for working with defenses/protections
- Porges’ polyvagal theory for recognizing and working with visceral states
- Practical application and integration of Interpersonal Neurobiology
- Extensive emotion theory explication that helps therapists accurately recognize and regulate clients’ emotional experiences
- Integration of body-based theories, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy, into attachment work
- Harnessing Memory Reconsolidation principles to facilitate deep and lasting changes
Teaching takes place in an online small-group environment that’s explicitly supportive and encouraging, in order to facilitate:
- Intensive therapist self-building, so that skills emerge from a solid inner foundation
- Support and encouragement for both new and experienced therapists to risk new skills
- Enlivening and enlightening case consultation and support
- A community of therapists who support and refer to each other
- Integration of the work into your own unique style
- Experiential modeling of the DEEP therapeutic modality (that is, learning DEEP in a DEEP environment)
Well-organized focus and multiple learning dimensions will help you emerge from the course with both a cognitive understanding and an intuitive sense of how to apply cutting-edge theory to your work:
- Section 1 – Developing Experiential Therapist Qualities: Creating Safety for Client and Therapist
- Section 2 - Foundational Skills: Clinical Application of DEEP Core Ideas
- Section 3 – Working With Protectors and Enactments: When It’s Hard to Connect
- Section 4 – Working with Emotion: How to Facilitate/How to Regulate
- Section 5 – Interpersonal Awareness and Integration: Bringing the Therapeutic Relationship Into the Foreground
Candyce's DEEP course has been an eye-opening experience for me. I feel that I'm growing both professionally and personally. She challenges her students to learn and grow in a very nurturing and inspirational way. Candyce has tremendous knowledge and experience in attachment, neurobiology, and grief, and she is an excellent teacher and group facilitator. I highly recommend her course!

DEEP training has been such a synergistic support to my professional growth as a budding psychotherapist. Candyce's attuned presence and authenticity is experienced in every moment of this year-long journey. Clearly, an incredible amount of thought, passion, and intention has been put into the development of DEEP. This training models the kind of therapist, and human being for that matter, that I've always aspired to be. Landing in this community of like-minded, kindred-spirit therapists has been nourishment for my soul. So many of my parts have softened & relaxed, and I've found that my authentic "Self as Therapist" has been here all along, just waiting for the right conditions to emerge. There's no doubt in my mind that I am more confident, patient, attuned, and clinically efficient as a direct result of this experience. Candyce, I am forever grateful to your leadership, wisdom, and your deep compassion for the human condition. Thank you for being you!

Who's Candyce Ossefort-Russell?
I'm a therapist who's driven by a passion for therapy that creates meaning - for both client and therapist.
I became a therapist because I made my way through darkness and emerged on the other side - with help from a therapist who went all the way through hell with me.
Meaning I have a fiery enthusiasm for mental, emotional, and spiritual health born out of my own travels through traumatic loss and my own therapy.
I have fierce faith in the therapeutic process. And I'm passionate about helping therapists trust themselves, and about offering tools for enjoying and growing within this work (even when things are hard).
Thus, the professional knowledge I bring to you springs from both insatiable study and intense life experience.
When your teacher has both? Your whole self gets to learn.
